Temple Emanu-El of Lynbrook has merged with Temple Sinai of Long Island. The new entity is Temple Am Echad The South Shore Reform Congregation. You will be redirected to the new Rabbi Geller page momentarily. If for any reason you are not forwarded, please go to http://am-echad.org/rabbigeller.html

Stuart M. Geller retired from the rabbinate in June, 2001. He actively served Temple Emanu-El of Lynbrook for 21 years. Ordained at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion more than 25 years ago, Rabbi Geller has served the Jewish people for over 30 years.

Rabbi Geller is a native of Denver, Colorado, where his mother still resides. Rabbi Geller has been well-known for his sense of humor and his commitment to Jewish youth. He was awarded the prestigious Samuel Cook Award for Distinguished Service in Youth Work from the Central Conference of American Rabbis in June, 2001. Rabbi Geller brought to our Temple a renewed sense of the importance of children and young people which he nurtured throughout his tenure.

Rabbi was the President of the Long Island Board of Rabbis. Trained in counseling, he is very committed to social action. During his tenure, Rabbi taught our Confirmation classes, our Outreach classes and our Adult Education program. He worked with each Bar and Bat Mitzvah candidate and studied independently with congregants.

Rabbi Geller is married to Ellyn. They have three adult children, Ari who is in the Public Relations Department of the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City, Amy who is a teacher in the Eisendrath International Exchange Program at Kibbutz Tzuba, and David who lives in and promotes concerts in Baltimore.

Rabbi is a collector of Passover Hagaddot and Dreydls which he shared in presentations whenever possible.

Rabbi and Ellen have made Aliyah to Israel and Jerusalem is their new home. We will miss them dearly but share in their joy as well.
